Interview with
Kenjo author of Win68k (21/04/00)
JCEC: What is your aim in producing Win68k?
Kenjo: Well, actually, I don't have any "aims", building emu is just my hobby ;-) One of the reason why I started to develop the WinX68k is that, EX68 had been stopped for a few years (fortunately, Yamama-san restarted to release!)
JCEC: What do you think about Yamama's work with EX68?
Kenjo: Great emulator. Speed and emulation level are both great.
JCEC: When you released Win68k did you consider adding encryption protection on the system files?
Kenjo: No. It is not easy to implement, and also I thought it's not so effective. Also the emulation level of WinX68k is not so good (especially early releases), so I thought only few people who knows well about X68k might use it.
JCEC: What do you think about Sharp releasing the rights to the X68000 system roms and OS?
Kenjo: It's a biggest news for me in the recent. I'd like to thank to SHARP, Hudson and all other companies who agree to this project. Also I'd like to say thank you to the people of FSHARP forum in the @nifty who had worked hard for this project.
JCEC: What are you're favourite games and applications for the X68000?
Kenjo: I don't play games on X68000 so much, but if I pick one, Dracula is the best. Apps. ... HAS.X (High-speed Assembler) ;-)
JCEC: Are there any up and coming features that we can expect to see in future releases of Win68k?
Kenjo: Now I plans 68030 instruction-set implementation, maybe 040/060 also. Also I plans inplementation of some "un-official" hardwares, such as "Mercury-Unit" (PCM sound card), but it will not be in the near future. The main updates will be bug fixes and speed optimizations in the next several versions.
